Crochet Abbreviations

A list of the most common abbreviations used by crocheters.  If I have missed something or if you have a question, please leave a comment or contact me using the contact form at the bottom of the page.

Abbreviations:
alt - alternate
approx - approximate(ly)
beg - begin(ning)
ch sp - chain space
CL - cluster
cont - continue
dec - decrease
gr - group
inc - increase
rem - remaining
rep - repeat
st(s) - stitch(es)
stch - starting chain
tch - turning chain
tog - together
yo - yarn over

Stitches:  *Note*  All stitches are American stitches, International or European are different than what is listed here.
ch(s) - chain(s)
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
tr - treble
dtr - double treble
ttr - triple treble
quad tr - quadruple treble
quin tr - quintuple treble

Acronyms:
UFO - Unfinished Object
WIP - Work In Progress
Frog - Ripping out stitches
